Transfer of references from EMBASE

Which of the methods for transferring references you choose depends on what suits the situation best.

Direct transfer of references from EMBASE

This is probably the best way to get references by searching the base’s interface, but not having to deal with intermediate storage with file location and formats.

How to:

  • Search relevant references in EMBASE

  • Click on

  • Fill in the dialog box as shown below

  • Click on the «Export» button

  • Depending on how the browser is set up, you may be asked what to do with the file. Choose to open it.

We strongly recommend to always check that the information is in the correct field in the EndNote library

 

Import from EMBASE

There may be situations where it is not possible / desirable to transfer references directly to EndNote (e.g if you are using a PC without EndNote).

How to:

In EMBASE
  • Search relevant references in EMBASE

  • Click on

  • Fill in the dialog box as shown below

  • Click «Export»

  • If this does not happen automatically, choose to save the file

In EndNote

  • Select «Import…» from the «File» menu

  • Select «File»

  • Browse to the saved file under «Import Data File»

  • Select  «EMBASE (OvidSP)» under «Import Option» (can be found under «Other Filters …» if it is not in the list initially)
