Add references to the library
An EndNote library without references has limited value. Five different ways to enter references are described below. Which way is used is determined by what one finds best from the opportunities available at all times.
- Add references manually
Use if you have no other options - Searching via EndNote
Don’t have to think about file locations and formats - Transferring from databases
List of options for transferring references from various bases - Importing PDF files
You can import full text files in PDF format which EndNote then makes a reference on the basis of.
What to choose?
Unfortunately, not all of these opportunities are real alternatives in all situations. As a rule, you have one or two options depending on your access to the original references. An overview of options and procedures can be found on the Transferring from bases page.
